Toyota Industries Corporation Gains the Highest rating in Survey by CDP

Chosen as an “A List” Company for the “Climate Change” category

Toyota Industries Corporation (President: Akira Onishi) announces that it has been selected as an “A List” company, the highest evaluation possible, in a survey on “Climate Change” category held by CDP*, an international environmental NGO originating in the UK. It was highly evaluated for initiatives including activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, alleviate climate change.

With an eye to realizing a prosperous life in harmony with the natural environment by creating a sustainable society, the Toyota Industries Group has formulated the “Seventh Environmental Action Plan,” a five-year plan covering the period from FY2022 through FY2026. It has been engaging in initiatives based on this plan.

We recognize that our selection as an A-list company was based on a comprehensive evaluation of our efforts to respond to climate change, including the initiatives listed below.

Toyota Industries Group will contribute to creating a sustainable society through global environmental conservation activities while also engaging in combating the key issues of climate change response.

*CDP is an international NGO established in 2000 in the U.K. that aims to promote the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, water resource conservation and the protection of forests by companies and governments.

In 2022, representing 680 institutional investors (asset scale under management: 130 trillion US dollars) and 280 purchasing corporations (procurement expense: 6.4 trillion US dollars), it conducted a survey and evaluation of major corporations worldwide.

ITMA 2019

 

TOYOTA INDUSTRIES CORPORATION will participate in the International Exhibition of Textile Machinery “ITMA 2019”, which will be held at Fira de Barcelona Gran Via from June 20th(Thu) to 26th(Wed). Toyota will demonstrate 4 Air-jet weaving machines with the latest technology, new Spinning frame, unique sample product by using TICO original innovative yarn “MOSAIC YARN*”, and Electric forklift truck at Hall 4, Booth D-101.

“JAT810”, the world’s No.1 share Air-jet loom which has achieved greater energy saving. In addition to the proven reliability and performance of JAT810, Toyota original electronic shedding motion “E-shed” widens the potential of Air-jet weaving machine to the utmost extent. At the forthcoming ITMA 2019, Toyota will show “E-shed” for terry towel and car sheet weaving at high-speed operation while keeping high-quality fabric, and also wide-width double-beam dobby loom for curtain fabric. Furthermore, Toyota will exhibit next generation Air-jet loom, which looks ahead of automation, smart factory and eco-technology.

Moreover, Toyota will introduce new spinning frame, which is possible to improve productivity and energy-saving drastically while producing great characteristic yarn. The new spinning frame will be able to propose Toyota’s future spinning technology.

We are pleased to announce that effective October 17, 2016, Toyoda Textile Machinery, Inc. changed its name to Toyota Textile Machinery, Inc. This name change allows Toyota Textile Machinery, Inc. to share the Toyota name with other companies that make up the Toyota Industries Group.

Toyota Textile Machinery, Inc. has been operating in the United States since 1980. While our name has changed, our commitment to providing the finest weaving and spinning machines has not. We will continue to strive to provide a level of service to our customers that the Toyota brand is known for throughout the world.
